Description:

This is a handling mod for "GTA IV" and "GTA: Episodes from Liberty City". It has been tested with all TBoGT and TLAD missions.
This mod improves driving realism and changes all cars, trucks, bikes and helicopters to resemble their real life counterparts more closely. 
All 170 handlings have been created from scratch. This mod is a continuation of my "Realistic Driving n Flying 2.7" mod, 
which has been in development for 360 days! Development of this mod took about 600 hours.

Main Features:

	-new handling for 170 vehicles (based on detailed data - check out the "vehicle list.txt" file)

	-realistic speed (super cars and bikes not capped at 127kph / 78mph any longer)
	
	-more realistic handling for all cars
	
	-more realistic handling for all bikes (limited by the stupid TLAD AI)

	-more realistic flight model for all helicopters (limited by the stupid TBoGT AI)

	-increased car deformation (150% and 300% available)

	-has been tested with every single mission (TBoGT and TLAD included)

	-realistic 0-100 kph acceleration
	
	-realistic brake force (measured in m/s2)

	-new brake force bias for all cars

	-bikers lean into turns properly

	-all cars re-balanced for more realistic under- and oversteering

Helicopter changes:

	-realistic forward thrust

	-realistic rate of climb

	-realistic air drag

	-realistic weight

	-realistic inertia

	-realistic centre of mass

	-realistic turning rate

	-realistic tail rotor

	-realistic tail fin aerodynamics

	-realistic landing skid physics


Improved vehicle spawning (optional):
The improved vehicle spawning adds vehicles to the traffic that dont spawn in the default game.
Now scooters (Faggio), Busses, SultanRS and Crossbikes (Sanchez) are driving around too.
Furthermore, the chance to encounter an Infernus, Comet, Banshee, Turismo, Coquette or SuperGT has been increased in some areas.
A map of those areas is included in this download. Who wants to spend 40 hours looking for his favorite car?

Improved weapons (optional):
The range of rifles has been changed to be more realistic, now you can take down helicopters that are more than 60m above of you. 
Damage has been slightly increased, now it takes 4 instead of 5 shots to take down a cop.
M4 now does slightly less damage than AK47, but in return has its rate of fire increased from 430 to 500 rpm.

This mod is for default models only, custom models require custom handling lines.

BACKUP THE ORIGINAL "HANDLING.DAT" FILES FIRST!

GTA - Episodes from Liberty City (stand alone disk):
-copy "handling.dat"(32 kb) to "EFLC \ common\ data"
-copy "handling.dat"(6.44 kb) to "EFLC \ TBoGT \ common\ data"
-copy "handling.dat"(6.31 kb) to "EFLC \ TLAD \ common\ data"

GTA 4 v1.070 + DLC (TBGT+TLAD):
-copy "handling.dat"(32 kb) to "GTA4 \ common\ data"
-copy "handling.dat"(6.44 kb) to "GTA4 \ TBoGT \ common\ data"
-copy "handling.dat"(6.31 kb) to "GTA4 \ TLAD \ common\ data"

GTA 4 v1.070 without DLC:

-you might need to delete the "filelist.pak" file

Troubleshooting (GTA4):

Problem: game refuses to start (GTA IV 1.00 - 1.01)
Answer:  make sure you have properly used the "magic patcher" to enable mods. 

Problem: game refuses to start (GTA IV 1.02)
Answer:  make sure you have properly replaced the file "filelist.pak" with the modified version.

Problem: game refuses to start (GTA IV 1.03 - 1.04/1.004)
Answer: launch R* social club software, click logout, then under username/password click "skip login", 
	then start the game. close the game. reboot. then login at R* club again and start the game.
	if the game still doesnt start, download an asi loader and use it to load the "filecheckfix" mod. 
	That will enable mods in singleplayer.

Problem: handling of vehicles doesn't change (GTA IV 1.03 - 1.04/1.004)
Answer: make sure you have properly replaced the file "filelist.pak" with the modified version.

FAQ:

Q: i play with keyboard/gamepad, is this mod optimized for my controller?
A: This mod works fine with both keyboard and 360 controller.

Q: Cars are too fast, i keep crashing. can you make the cars slower?
A: Just start a new game and play the first missions, that will teach you how to drive. promised.

Q: can i use this mod online?
A: if you cheat on other people you deserve to be banned.

Q: all cars go 300+ kph, what's wrong?
A: your speedometer! install one that actually works. 

Q: Brakes seem to be way too weak, why?
A: You played too much crap games like NFS dude! Brakes in this mod are actually 15% more effective than in real life. 
   The deceleration values used in this mod have been determined by real tests on racetracks and are very accurate.
   Brakes in this mod are not weak, they just seem to be because of the speed increase compared to the default game.
